Winter & Holiday Travels

As many of us gear up for traveling during the holidays, if you are going to be doing ANY driving, the number one travel insurance you can have is making sure your car is ready for the journey. Whether you are traveling 40 minutes or 5 hours, there are some basics you can do to make sure your car is safer and you are more confident on the road.

  1. Tires, Tires, Tires: Make sure your tires are properly inflated, have ample tread, and are designed for the roads you will be driving (If you are going to snow, snow tires or how to use chains is highly recommended). Also, if you have a spare tire, make sure the spare is in good shape (no dry rot) and is properly inflated.

  2. Windshield Wipers: As we move through different climates, the wipers are usually something we forget until we need them. Make sure yours are in good condition before you get on the road.

  3. Lights: It's a good idea to check the function of all lights (don't forget back-up lights)

  4. Fluids: check all fluid levels

  5. Air: Check your engine air filter to make sure that it's clean so you get the best gas mileage.

Here's a fun video to help you prepare for your next road trip. I hope everyone has a safe holiday travel season!
